Summer Alpine Course
Provence & Dauphiné Alps
By arrangement with Centre staff
This course is ideally designed to develop the social and outdoor skills of pupils in their final or
penultimate year at school. It is an opportunity to refine the techniques of rock-climbing and white water
kayaking. Rafting, some glacier travel and an Alpine peak may also be undertaken. Group members can expect to
gain a great deal from the close interaction of personalities that exists within the framework of this course.
The challenging situations will encourage self-reliance and a positive attitude. A strong sense of responsibility
will underpin the essential value of this course.
- It is a camping vacation
- It is a self-catering experience
- All equipment can be provided
- Food is purchased on a tent group basis and a cost of approximately 50 French Francs per day should be
allowed to cover these expenses
The cost of the course includes:
- Instruction by qualified staff
- All camping fees
- All transport costs, including ferry and French tolls
- En route through France, Formula One or Mr Bed is not included
